History of a Painkiller:
Created in the 1970s by Daphne Henderson at the famous Soggy Dollar Bar, White Bay on the island of Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands. The once “secret” drink is so famous that Pusser’s Rum’s modern founder, Charles Tobias, is reputed to have reverse engineered the recipe that is shared here.
Painkiller Drink Recipe
- 2 oz of Pusser’s Rum
- 4 oz of pineapple juice
- 1 oz of cream of coconut
- 1 oz orange juice
- Top with fresh grated nutmeg to taste
Pour ingredients into a shaker filled with ice, shake and pour into a tall glass. Top with grated nutmeg.
That’s it. On-island or not, it really is that simple and easy to make your own Painkiller.
